What Went Wrong
In catching up with my Pirates' reading, I stumbled across this fine article dissecting the roots of the organization's woes over the past decade on OnlyBucs.Net. It's written by Wilbur Miller (he of the excellent Pirates Player Profiles). As usual, Mr. Miller tells it like it is.
I know some fans get sick of any kind of rehashing of the the past 12 years of misery, but I firmly believe in the old adage that the failure to learn from one's mistakes condemns you to repeat them. Despite the occasional sign of hope, there is no arguing that the Bucs are in a serious rut, and it's not going to change until they stop making the same frustrating mistakes time and time again.
